This exciting commission is to realise a series of original artworks for the kaiseki restaurant onboard the Silver Nova Silver Ray ocean liner, part of the luxurious Silversea small ships fleet. Inspiration for these pieces was found in an imagined place eroded by nature. Refined shapes inspired by the restrained intensity of tensional fault troughs and ground fissures. Oblique fault lines laced with shimmering gold tones of lichens with dark mineral grains running through the pieces. Pigmented glazes of burgundy and ochre upon gilded canvas on board with acrylic paint, epoxy clay and surface disruption pigments of greens and burgundy.
