In 2022, our studio received a commission to create original artwork for the kaiseki restaurant on the ocean liner Silver Dawn, part of the Silversea fleet. We were inspired by a fictional view of dawn above a volcanic archipelago. As morning twilight appears, soft sunlight spreads across the ocean. The sky is unsettled, casting light on the choppy waters. Tectonic plate lines blend cool shades of silver and iron oxide, creating a terrain shaped by the pressure that gently rises like a sponge returning to its form. Artwork on cotton canvas, on board, with high body acrylic paint, gold leaf, silver leaf, pigment glazes with varnish.

These original artworks were designed specifically for the Japanese restaurant Kaiseki. Cotton canvas stretched over shaped board with an application of high relief impasto, 23-carat gold leaf, silver leaf, pigment glazes finished with gloss UV varnish.
